In 1979, he worked as a full-time photographer for Shanghai's foreign trade advertisements. In 1985, he was the leader and photographer of China's first overseas fashion show team. In 1987, he shot and edited Huangshan tourism album. In 1990, he immigrated to Toronto and served as the chief photographer of a large photography company until retirement. In 2017, he won the Toronto International Photography Festival Award - the Photography Theorist Award, the Medal of Honor of the 5th World Photography Congress, and is currently the plenipotentiary representative of the Toronto Museum of Art and Design's "World Portrait Photography Master Karsh Original Works China Tour Exhibition", consultant of the Toronto International Photography Federation and Advisor to the North American Mobile Photography Association.
